The Elder Samburu dancing

NOT FOR SALE

80 x 120 cm  –  Oil on canvas

The Samburu are cousins to the Maasai and and both speak the Maa language. This Samburu man is no longer a Moran (warrior) as his head has been shaved. His head is still decorated in animal fat and ocre. Here he is at the height of his leaping jumps that are performed during their dances to see who can (still) jump the highest, with straight legs and a straight upright body !

All my painting have a special anti-UV rays varnish sprayed on to protect the colors from fading or going yellow and to protect the painting as a whole. A damp sponge may be applied to this varnish to remove dust and clean the painting.
