They are so rare and difficult to see but with perseverance, you do come across them in Kenya’s National Parks. To catch their prey (rodents, birds, frogs, insects and reptiles), they leap over 2 m above the ground to land on and kill their prey. Their huge ears enable them to hear the exact whereabouts of their prey in long grass.
