This Samburu is our favorite guide. His knowledge of the wildlife and fauna that he grew up with is staggering. He is in total symbiosis with his surroundings. He knows how to read every sign and message that nature speaks to him: a bird alarm, all foot prints (roughly how long ago the animal passed, in which direction, and how big …), the look in an animal’s eyes, a mark on a tree, leopard’s favorite resting places, cheetah’s territories, where the elephants are and when they move in search of water … There is no end to the details he knows from within, from instinct. He is from a new generation and his necklace the latest fashion (2018 – 2020). A privilege to be shown and share his wildlife and country.
