The Glimpse

73 x 60 cm        Oil on canvas

Leopards are difficult to see because they are nocturnal. They hunt at night. During the day, they like to find a cool place to sleep away from annoying flies. In Samburu, one option is to sleep under one of the huge and numerous bushes along the shores of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Early one morning as we were quietly driving around along the sandy shores, we suddenly came across this leopard just for a glimpse, while he or she was deciding which bush to lie under for the day. A proud beauty giving a zen and magical atmosphere to this painting.

All my paintings have a special anti-UV rays varnish sprayed on to protect the colors from fading or going yellow and to protect the painting as a whole. A damp sponge may be applied to this varnish to remove dust and clean the painting.
