I’ve been painting now since 2005. A wonderful learning journey in so many ways. The best journey is meeting the people and learning about their lives. One interesting exchange was with Esther in February 2020. I wanted to see how Maasai people live today. I asked Evans, our contact in Ngong who makes the most beautiful strong and authentic Maasai belts. He has a woman’s group that does the bead-work for him. He buys the leather and the beads and the Maasai ladies can take that home and sew on the beads at home as they look after their children.
